Avanzando

AVANZANDO got started in Newark, in 2008, by a coalition of committed individuals interested in advancing and empowering our Latino youth, their families and our community. As we grow, we want to develop a strong and broad network of dedicated partners and members who will support us in our mission.

Awards

The Avanzando organization of Newark is hosting their 2nd annual Awards night and celebration on June 3, 2010 at 5:30 pm at the Newark Pavilion, Hall #1. Each year the volunteer organization recognizes outstanding educators and students who have contributed to the success and advancement of Latino youth in the Newark Unified School district and the Ohlone Community College district.

The theme for this years event is Excellence and Innovation in Education to Advance Latino Success. The educators and studerence by working with students and theints are excellent examples and role models of outstanding individuals who are making a differ families to improve and enhance the quality of their education. The awardees are being commended and honored for their outstanding contributions and commitment.
